On June 1, 2016 the Minister of Energy, Mrs. Temenuzhka Petkova inspected the operation of GRS Burgas. Mr. Sergey Karaulov, Deputy Chairman of the Russian Part of the Intergovernmental Bulgarian-Russian Commission for Economic and Scientific and Technical Cooperation also attended the site visit.
In October 2015 the project for natural gas supply to the newly built production capacities for the Hydrocracking block of Lukoil Neftohim Burgas AD to GRS Burgas whose construction started in September 2014 and which was executed in two consecutive stages has been completed. The total value of the project realized by Bulgartransgaz EAD is nearly 1 500 000 BGN.
"Every investment in the modernization of our gas transmission network is an investment in the reliability of our system and the competiveness of the economy". These were the words of the Minister of Energy Temenuzhka Petkova after inspecting the operation of the gas regulating station Burgas. The Energy Minister recalled that the main users of the large gas transmission network modernization projects are the big energy consumers, as is the case with Lukoil Neftochim Burgas. The project contributes to minimizing the production costs and increasing the efficiency. In the face of strong completion this is an important factor for the development of the company.
The Executive Director of Bulgartransgaz EAD Georgi Gegov stated that thanks to the policies pursued in the energy sector conditions have been created where every important investment as is the new installation in Lukoil refinery can be supported by the state.
