Bulgartransgaz EAD informs all interested parties that the company consolidates the two balancing zones – the national and the transit balancing zones, in one common balancing zone and introduces one virtual trading point (VTP Bulgaria) instead of VTP National and VTP Transit as of 1 October 2021.

At the same time, we have established the possibility for the users to release and transfer amounts under the collaterals from one Contract to another, within their portfolios, by submitting an electronic application to the operator's information platform – the CDP.

We have also provided for the submission of only one collateral (a cash deposit or bank guarantee), which will cover the amounts under the required collaterals under all three Contracts, signed with Bulgartransgaz (Transport and access contract, Balancing contract and Contract for access and natural gas storage), and the users will have the opportunity, using the electronic application in the CDP, to allocate the amounts under the collateral under the three Contracts in accordance with their own business plans. A new bank guarantee template has therefore been also introduced, together with a template of an Application for the initial allocation of amounts under a bank guarantee, available here.

We have also envisaged the relevant amendments in the Contracts and the General Terms and Conditions, also effective as of 1 October 2021, as well as some editorial changes and improvements in the Contracts, some definitions have been fine-tuned, without thereby changing the meaning and content of the current provisions.

None of the proposed amendments in the Contracts introduce any new material amendments; no public consultations with the interested parties are thus necessary.

The Contract for natural gas transport and access through Bulgartransgaz EAD gas transmission networks with the General Terms and Conditions thereto, as well as the Contract for purchase and sale of natural gas for balancing and the Contract for use of a virtual trading point, applicable for gas year 2021- 2022 have been approved by Bulgartransgaz EAD Management Board and published in track change regime here.
